Cookies
In addition to the data described under “Collection and storage of personal data when you visit my website,” the website stores cookies on your
device, such as a laptop, tablet, or phone. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. They send information to the party that sets them. I use cookies to make my site easier to use and more effective. Cookies do not directly identify you to me, run programs, or transmit viruses to your computer.
My website uses only session cookies. They store a session ID that associates requests from your browser with the same session and can indicate which pages you have visited. This processing is necessary to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties under Article 6(1), first sentence, point (f) GDPR. These interests include improving the site, making it easier to use, and designing its content. The integrations let you use third-party services directly from this website.

Use of Google Maps
I use Google Maps on my website. This lets me display interactive maps directly on the site and lets you use Google Maps features. Google collects, processes, and uses data about your use of these features.
Google receives information that you opened the corresponding page and the data described under “Collection and storage of personal data when you visit my website.” This happens whether you are signed in, signed out, or have no Google account.
If you are signed in to Google, your data is linked to your account. Sign out first if you do not want the information linked to your Google profile.
Google stores the data as user profiles and uses it for advertising, market research, statistics, or adapting its website. This may include showing personalized advertisements to signed-out users and informing other users about your activity on my website.

Use of Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that help analyze your use of the site. The information generated by the cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the United States and stored there. If IP anonymization is enabled, Google first shortens your IP address within the European Union or another country in the European Economic Area. In exceptional cases, the full IP address is transferred to the United States and shortened there. Google uses this information on behalf of the website operator to analyze how you use the site, compile reports on activity, and provide related services.
Google does not combine the IP address sent by your browser through Google Analytics with other Google data. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some features may be unavailable. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing cookie-generated data about your use of the site, including your IP address, by installing the browser add-on athttp://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. This site uses Google Analytics with the “_anonymizeIp()” extension. It processes shortened IP addresses to prevent the data from being linked to an individual. Any identifiable data is therefore immediately made non-identifiable and the personal data deleted. I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site and improve it. For exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the United States, Google has adhered to the EU–US Privacy Shield:https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. The legal basis for Google Analytics is Article 6(1), first sentence, point (f) GDPR.

I currently use Twitter social media plug-ins.
I use a two-click solution. When you first visit my site, it generally sends no personal data to the plug-in providers. You can identify a provider by its initial or logo on the box. The button lets you communicate directly with
the plug-in provider. Once you click and activate the marked box, the provider learns that you visited the corresponding page and receives the data listed in Section 3 of this notice. Facebook and Xing state that IP addresses in Germany are anonymized immediately after collection. Activating a plug-in sends personal data to the provider, where it is stored, including in the United States for US-based providers. Because the provider collects data primarily through cookies, I recommend clearing your browser’s cookies before activating the box.
I have no control over the data collected or how it is processed, and I do not know the full scope of collection, its purposes, or the retention periods. I have no information about when the provider deletes the data collected.
The provider stores the data as user profiles and uses it for advertising, market research, or adapting its website. This includes showing personalized advertising, even to people who are signed out, and telling other users about your activity on my website. You may object to the creation of these profiles by contacting the provider. Plug-ins allow you to interact with social networks and other users so I can improve my site. The legal basis is Article 6(1), first sentence, point (f) GDPR.
Data is shared whether or not you have a provider account or are signed in. If you are signed in, the data collected on my site is linked directly to your account. If you use the activated button to share a link, the provider stores the information in your account and shares it publicly with your contacts. I recommend signing out after using social networks and before activating the button to avoid linking your activity to your profile.
The providers’ privacy policies below explain the purposes and scope of data collection and processing, your rights, and the settings available to protect your privacy.

Objecting to processing or withdrawing consent

Please tell me why, given your particular situation, I should not process your personal data. After reviewing your objection, I will stop, adjust, or continue the processing. If I continue, I will explain the compelling grounds for doing so.
You may object to processing for advertising or data analysis at any time without giving a reason. I will honor that objection.
If you have consented to the processing of your data, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
